The HON 42-inch charcoal lateral file features a reinforced case with baked enamel finish over rust-inhibiting phosphate pretreatment for durability. It includes full-width designer handles, dual side locks, and a mechanical interlock allowing only one drawer to open at a time. Drawers accommodate letter or legal-size folders with adjustable hangrails and have drawer-extension restraints. Smooth operation is ensured by three-part telescoping ball-bearing suspension. The file also has four adjustable leveling guides and a core-removable lock securing both sides of the drawers.
