The dock board features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and beveled curbs for maximum safety, with a lightweight, corrosion-resistant high-strength aluminum board that includes full-length welded aluminum curbs for extra rigidity and to prevent operator run-off. The curb also serves as a full-length handgrip for ease and safety in handling. A safety stop on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The board is supplied with an 11-degree angle unless otherwise specified, and an 11" entry lip with a rounded nose protects tires. It meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed when the truck is lower than dock level. Capacity is rated based on the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, specified for single-shift operation at equipment speeds of up to 3 mph; for multi-shift operations, 3-wheeled forklifts, or trucks using paper roll clamps, an additional 5000 lbs. should be added to the board capacity. The board width should be 12" greater than the lift truck or load, with 60" being the most popular width; usable width is 4" less than overall width. Stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders should not be used on this dock board, and refrigerated trucks require special dock boards.
