The dock board features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and beveled curbs for maximum safety, with a high-strength aluminum board that includes full-length welded aluminum curbs for extra rigidity and to help prevent operator run-off. The curb also provides a full-length handgrip for ease and safety in handling, and a safety stop on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The board includes an 11-degree angle of operation unless otherwise specified, with an 11" entry lip featuring a rounded nose to protect tires. It meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed when the truck is lower than dock level. The capacity refers to the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, rated for a single shift with equipment speeds up to 3 mph; for multi-shift operations, 3-wheeled forklifts, or trucks using paper roll clamps, 5000 lbs. should be added to the board capacity. The width should be 12" greater than the lift truck or load, with the most popular overall width being 60" and the usable width being 4" less than the overall width. Stacker trucks, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders are not recommended for use on the dock board. Special dock boards are required for refrigerated trucks.
