The TI-83 Plus is an easy-to-use graphing calculator designed for math and science applications, suitable for algebra through pre-calculus, and features powerful statistics and finance functionalities. It includes Flash technology for upgrades and offers financial functions such as Time Value of Money (TVM), cash flows, amortization, and complex numbers. Enhanced data analysis capabilities allow for logistic and sine regressions. The calculator can graph 10 rectangular functions, six parametric expressions, six polar expressions, and three recursively-defined sequences. An I/O port with a unit-to-unit link cable is included for connectivity. The TI-83 Plus features a large 64 x 96 pixel, 8 x 16 display, 24KB of RAM, and 160KB of Flash ROM memory for data archiving and app storage. Applications can be stored on a computer for later use or linked unit-to-unit. It is powered by four AAA batteries, complemented by a lithium battery backup that protects RAM memory during main battery changes. The calculator supports various mathematical functions including binary, hyperbolic, trigonometry, logarithm, matrix operations, simultaneous equations, and Boolean logic.
