Precision Brand 316 stainless steel shim is crafted from a soft (annealed) temper material, which features enhanced corrosion resistance against most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to the inclusion of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. The fabrication characteristics of type 316 are comparable to those of type 302 and type 304. This shim measures 6" wide by 12" long by 0.003" thick and is commonly utilized in chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, and textile finishing equipment. Precision Brand® is unique in offering Branded® shim, which is fully traceable; thickness, material type, and lot number are printed directly on the shim material for easy identification.
