Precision Brand 316 stainless steel shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material, featuring type 316 stainless steel which offers enhanced corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to the addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. The fabrication characteristics of type 316 are comparable to those of type 302 and type 304. This shim measures 12 inches wide by 50 inches long by 0.002 inches thick and is extensively utilized in chemical and food processing equipment, as well as in photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, and textile finishing applications. Precision Brand® is the sole manufacturer of Branded® shim, which is fully traceable and quickly identifiable, with the thickness, material type, and lot number printed directly on the shim material.
