The kit is designed to be installed directly on the water heater hot port and functions as a dual-purpose mixing or diverting valve, maintaining constant water temperature under different operating conditions. It features a proportional valve for controlling hot and cold water and reduces flow within seconds if the cold water supply is interrupted. Temperature adjustment is made using a 3/16 inch Allen wrench, which is included, and union-coupled tailpiece connections are also provided. The valve does not require heat trapping and includes a recirculation connection for fast response, as well as an integral check valve on the cold water port. Constructed from bronze and stainless steel with Teflon-coated wear surfaces to prevent lime deposits, the valve supports a maximum pressure differential of 7 psi (48 kPa) between hot and cold ports. It is ASSE 1017 certified, CSA and IAPMO listed, lead-free, and made in the USA.
