This kit is designed to be installed directly on the water heater hot port and serves as a dual purpose mixing or diverting valve, providing constant water temperature under different operating conditions. It features a proportional valve for control of hot and cold water and reduces flow within seconds if the cold water supply is interrupted. The temperature is adjustable using a 3/16 in. Allen wrench, which is included, and it comes with union coupled tailpiece connections. Heat trapping is not required, and the valve includes a recirculation connection for fast response as well as an integral check valve on the cold water port. Constructed from bronze and stainless steel with Teflon-coated wear surfaces to prevent lime deposits, this valve operates with a maximum pressure differential between hot and cold ports of 7 psi (48 kPa). It is ASSE 1017 certified, CSA and IAPMO listed, lead-free, and made in the USA.
