Product Details
The steel kit features a 5% chromium content, making it particularly desirable for punches and dies intended for long production runs due to its extended tool life, enabling the production of up to 50% more pieces per sharpening compared to oil hardening steel. Its high wear resistance is ideal for stamping silicon, stainless steels, Monel metal, and other abrasive materials, while it maintains close dimensional accuracy throughout the heat treating process. The steel has a wide 75-degree hardening range, making the process virtually foolproof. Additionally, full-length identification is provided to eliminate confusion with other steels. The nominal analysis for AISI A2 includes carbon at 1.00, chromium at 5.25, manganese at 0.60, molybdenum at 1.00, silicon at 0.40, and vanadium at 0.25.
