Product Details
The kit features a steel composition with a nominal analysis of AISI A2, including 1.00% Carbon, 5.25% Chromium, 0.60% Manganese, 1.00% Molybdenum, 0.40% Silicon, and 0.25% Vanadium. The 5% chromium content enhances the durability of punches and dies, allowing them to sustain longer production runs and yielding up to 50% more pieces per sharpening compared to oil hardening steel. The high wear resistance is suitable for stamping various materials such as silicon, stainless steels, and Monel metal, while maintaining close dimensional accuracy throughout the heat treating process. The wide hardening range of 75 degrees ensures reliable performance, and full-length identification aids in distinguishing this steel from others.
