Free-stand type 1 enclosures are designed to provide economical protection for electrical and electronic equipment in environments that do not demand extensive environmental safeguarding. The enclosures feature a robust 14 gauge steel body and door, with 12 gauge back covers. They come with a 4-inch high 10 gauge steel integral lifting base, offering usable heights that range from 48 inches to 84 inches, which are 4 inches less than the nominal height. The design includes sturdy 7 gauge lifting tabs, flush doors, and a 3-point latch equipped with a heavy-duty handle and padlock provision. Pre-drilled holes in the lifting base allow for bolt-down capability, and the doors on single-door models are easily reversible, while two-door models have overlapping doors with no center post. Additionally, each door includes bonding provisions, and studs are provided for the mounting of optional panels on threaded bolts. Optional rack angles can be mounted to the top and bottom of the front flanges, and the back covers are removable for accessibility.
