The 3M™ Cubitron™ II fibre disc 982C TN quick change 4-1/2" features 36+ ceramic grain with 36 grit and is designed for high pressure grinding applications such as medium to heavy-duty stock removal on carbon steel. This fibre disc utilizes 3M precision shaped grain technology with triangular shaped grains that are electrostatically oriented on the vulcanized fiber backing, forming sharp peaks that slice through metal while continuously self-sharpening to maintain cutting efficiency and reduce heat due to friction. The disc provides up to twice the cut-rate, durability, and life compared to other fiber discs, enabling faster throughput and less operator fatigue in tasks like edge chamfering, beveling, removing welds, mill scale, pits, imperfections, and machining grooves. The fibre disc's tough, stiff backing resists wear and is suitable for heavy-duty weld removal, grinding, and blending of metal surfaces in metal fabrication industries. This product is engineered for applications including edge beveling, edge chamfering, gate removal, right angle grinding, weld removal, and finishing metal fabrication.
