3M™ Scotch™ 355 Carton Sealing Tape is a high-performance tape measuring 2 inches by 55 yards with a thickness of 3.5 mil and a clear finish. This tape is designed to securely close double and triple walled corrugated cartons, including those with high recycled content, thereby saving time and reducing closure failures. Its polyester backing is resilient against moisture, abrasion, and scuffing, ensuring robust performance throughout the shipping process. The tape is engineered to withstand score line breaking and center seam splitting, making it suitable for heavy-duty box and carton sealing operations. The combination of a thick biaxially oriented polyester backing and a hot melt synthetic rubber resin adhesive provides high adhesion, tensile strength, and elongation at break. It complies with environmental considerations outlined in ASTM D1974-92 and meets the specifications of CID A-A-1684B and ASTM D5486 type III. Additionally, it is water-resistant in accordance with ASTM D5570. The tape features a conformable backing that resists score line breaking and center seam splitting, represents the best combination of performance traits in the Scotch™ polyester line of tapes, and is ideal for heavyweight packages, as well as overseas and export packing and shipping. Application is quick and easy when using a hand dispenser.
