Brass nipples are produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This material is easier to machine, less brittle to work with, and exhibits superior resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. Brass provides good corrosion resistance against water and heat, and it effectively resists attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. It is primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, as well as for oil, gas, and steam applications.
