Brass nipples are produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230, which offers superior machinability, reduced brittleness, and enhanced corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. This material provides excellent corrosion resistance from water and heat, and is resilient against attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. Brass is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but it is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
