Brass nipples are produced from seamless red brass pipe, which is alloy 230. This material offers enhanced machinability, reduced brittleness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it does not dezincify. Brass provides good corrosion resistance against water and heat, and it is resistant to attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. It is primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but it is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
