Brass nipples are produced from seamless red brass pipe, which is Alloy 230. This construction offers advantages such as ease of machining, reduced brittleness during work, and enhanced resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, eliminating concerns of dezincification. Brass provides good corrosion resistance from water and heat, along with resistance to attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils in water. Primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, brass nipples are also suitable for use in oil, gas, and steam applications.
