Brass nipples are produced from seamless red brass pipe, which is alloy 230. This type of red brass is easier to machine, less brittle to work with, and significantly more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, notably preventing dezincification. Brass is recognized for its excellent corrosion resistance against water and heat, as well as its ability to withstand attacks from salt water and various acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. The primary application of brass is in commercial plumbing and OEM settings, but it is also suitable for use in oil, gas, and steam applications.
