The 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U is designed for convenience, combining open coat aluminum oxide discs with a handy adhesive backing ready for quick attachment to a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). This disc roll includes easy-to-grab discs that eliminate the use of disc liners and are suitable for use with a random orbital sander. The discs feature long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a lightweight paper backing, ideal for lightweight sanding and finishing tasks. The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading, extending the service life of the discs, which are suitable for general sanding and finishing applications on a variety of substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites such as fiberglass. The high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on the backside for easy attachment to the backup pad and clean removal, ensuring an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also known as a disc pad and sold separately) attached to a random orbital sander. The discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs and feature open coat construction, which spaces the abrasive grains to allow dust and debris to collect without clogging the disc. This construction provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade for faster results. Applications include OEM finish prep/repair, defect repair/leveling, and orbital sanding, suitable for industries such as OEM and marine.
