The 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U is engineered for convenience with open coat aluminum oxide discs featuring an adhesive backing that allows for quick attachment to a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). This disc roll facilitates easy access to the discs while eliminating the need for disc liners. Designed for use with a random orbital sander, these durable discs are crafted from long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a lightweight a-weight paper backing, making them suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing tasks. The open coat construction and load-resistant coating prevent loading, extending the service life of the discs, which are well-suited for general sanding and finishing on various substrates including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites such as fiberglass. The Stikit discs feature a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on the backside for convenient application and clean removal, ensuring an uncontaminated surface for subsequent discs. The open coat design reduces loading by allowing dust and debris to settle in the spaces between the abrasive grains, resulting in a more aggressive cut compared to a closed coat abrasive of the same grade for faster results. Typical applications include OEM finish prep and repair, defect repair, leveling, and orbital sanding, with relevance across industries such as OEM and marine.
