The 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U is designed for convenience, featuring open coat aluminum oxide discs with an adhesive backing for quick attachment to a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). This disc roll allows easy access to the discs while eliminating the need for disc liners. Compatible with a random orbital sander, the discs utilize long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a light A-weight paper backing, making them suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing tasks. The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading, providing a longer service life, making these discs ideal for general sanding and finishing applications on various substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites like fiberglass. The high-quality coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the backside, allowing for clean removal without contaminating the surface for the next disc, and should be used with a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). The open coat construction minimizes loading by allowing dust and debris to collect in the spaces between abrasive grains, which also results in a more aggressive cut than comparable closed coat abrasives of the same grade for faster results. Suitable applications include AOEM finish prep/repair, defect repair/leveling, and orbital sanding, with relevant industries being AOEM and marine.
