Engineered to perform in the harshest conditions, the HazardGard air conditioning unit meets T4 temperature classifications and is specifically designed to cool laboratories, control rooms, living quarters, storage areas, and other enclosures situated in hazardous locations where volatile flammable liquids or gases are handled or used within enclosed containers or systems. The unit includes a sleeve that can be installed in a window or through-the-wall, provided the wall depth meets specifications. Key features of the HazardGard include a hermetically sealed reciprocating compressor that is cooled during the refrigeration cycle, enabling it to tolerate outdoor temperatures up to 130°F, an environmentally sealed on/off switch, and gold-plated contacts in the thermostat for corrosion resistance. The unit is equipped with solid-state control relays for compressor and fan operation, a larger commercial-grade enclosed fan motor with hermetically sealed overload for arc-free operation, and a totally enclosed design to ensure efficient operation under adverse electrical conditions. Its 22 GA, G60 steel air conditioner cabinet is powder-coated for corrosion protection and durability, while the coils are coated for corrosion resistance. Additionally, the DiamonBlue Advanced Corrosion Protection® on the outdoor coil protects it against deterioration, extending the unit's lifespan, particularly in coastal or corrosive environments.
