Product Details
The unit heater is designed for horizontal or vertical mount downflow applications, offering a heating capacity of 5kW at 277V, 1-phase. It serves as an auxiliary, supplementary, or primary heat source suitable for factories, stores, garages, basements, warehouses, public buildings, service stations, stock-rooms, offices, and large or exposed areas. This versatile unit can be mounted either horizontally or vertically and features adjustable louvers that provide enhanced control of air throw direction, with stops to prevent complete closure of the discharge area. The unit offers 360° positioning and incorporates an aluminum-finned, copper clad steel sheath heating element that extends the useful life due to cooler sheath temperatures and improved heat dissipation. It employs an advanced pull-through airflow design that ensures even air distribution and cooler operation of the heating element. The forced air unit heater is available in 10 power ratings ranging from 3 kW to 50 kW, with heating outputs of 10,230 to 170,600 BTU/hr, and supports 208, 240, 277, and 480V configurations. The 5 through 10 kW 208/240V and 15 kW 208V units are designed for 1- or 3-phase wiring and offer field interchangeable configurations. It includes branch circuit fusing to meet NEC requirements for a maximum of 24 amps/ckt, a 2-speed fan selector switch for the 25 to 50 kW models, and automatic control that delays fan operation until the heating element is warm. The fan continues running until the heating element cools, which helps to prevent the circulation of cold air and prolong component life. The unit is also equipped with an automatic reset linear thermal cut-out for protection across the entire heating element area, with manual reset options available on a made-to-order basis. Additionally, it features a specially designed venturi outlet to enhance throw in the vertical position, a heavy gauge die-formed steel housing that offers durability yet lightweight for easier installation, and large, dynamically balanced fan blades that maximize airflow while minimizing turbulence and noise.
