The Cold-Shot allows for repairs without the need to drain water lines, sprinkler systems, or hot water systems by keeping pressurized systems operational during the process. It effectively freezes all types of liquids in steel, copper, cast iron, aluminum, and plastic pipes ranging from 1/8 to 2 inches (10 mm - 60 mm) utilizing carbon dioxide (CO2) for the freezing process. The Cold-Shot features a dip-tube type cylinder, which is readily available at welding supply houses, and is noted for being faster and less expensive than refrigerator-type units, requiring just five minutes for copper tubing and three minutes for cast iron pipe. The kit includes 10 sets of freeze heads suitable for 1/8 to 2-inch lines (10 mm to 60 mm), two high-pressure spiral hoses with injectors, a T-distributor, a locking nut, a hex head screwdriver, rubber gloves, goggles, and a carrying case. It is backed by a one-year limited warranty.
