The MercSorb® spill kit is specifically designed to manage all stages of cleaning up mercury spills and is intended for one-time use only. This kit does not include any chemicals that alter the mercury's toxicity or danger. Adhering to OSHA hospital recommendations for mercury spill control, the kit is suitable for cleaning up small spills of 25ml or less and includes essential items such as gloves, protective glasses, HG absorb powder, mercury sponges, and a disposal bag. The kit contents feature 270 grams of amalgamation powder, which consists of 15 grams of mercury for every 100 grams, 250 grams of indicator powder that covers 1 to 1.6 square feet, and a 454-gram vapor suppressor shaker bottle containing 20 grams of mercury for every 100 grams of carbon. Additional items include one aspirator bottle, one waste collection bottle, one mixing tub with spatula, one chemical sponge, one pair of nitrile gloves, one pair of splash goggles, one whisk-on pan, and one disposal bag. The kit's composition includes zinc/citric acid, sulfur/copper iodide/silica, and carbon, and its contents do not expire as long as they remain protected from water or excessive moisture.
