Thermo Scientific™ Thermolyne™ Benchtop 1100°C muffle furnaces are designed to reduce energy consumption and enhance heatup time, making them suitable for ashing various organic and inorganic samples, heat treating small steel parts, conducting ignition tests, performing gravimetric analysis, and determining volatile and suspended solids. The furnace features two capacities, digital single setpoint temperature control up to 1100°C, and a single display that shows either the actual temperature or the setpoint. It is equipped with ceramic fiber insulation for quicker heatup and reduced energy consumption, an embedded heating element on the top and both sides for improved temperature uniformity, and a drop-down door that serves as a shelf for loading and unloading. Additional safety features include a door safety switch that cuts power to the heating elements when the door is opened and thermocouple break protection to prevent runaway conditions due to thermocouple failure. The unit has a 0.95 cm (0.38") diameter port in the chamber rear for monitoring temperatures with independent measuring devices. The A1 digital controller provides digital single setpoint control with a dual display for actual temperature and setpoint, although it does not include a mechanical over-temperature protection relay. The kit includes a thermocouple, line cord, and hearth plate for bottom protection of the unit, with the note that it will not ship to residential addresses.
