The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Stikit™ Film Disc 775L features 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, a significant advancement in abrasive technology with triangular-shaped ceramic mineral that cuts through substrates instead of gouging or plowing, allowing for a cutting speed up to 2x faster and a lifespan up to 6x longer than conventional abrasives. These discs are suitable for a wide array of applications primarily focused on stock removal and are effective on various substrates, including metals, composites, gelcoat, and whitewood. The film backing provides enhanced tear resistance compared to paper discs, ensuring greater durability and edge retention. The Stikit™ system simplifies the attachment process with a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on the backside, allowing for easy application and removal from the disc pad without leaving residue. A Stikit™ disc must be used with a Stikit™ backup pad (sold separately), which can be attached to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Common applications for these discs include AOEM finish prep/repair, defect repair/leveling, finishing, orbital sanding, paint/lacquer sanding for cabinetry, custom woodworking, millwork, and furniture.
