The Jet certified Meehanite® casting features enhanced ribbing for improved rigidity and tolerance retention. The swing-away control box is equipped with an emergency stop and places all controls conveniently at the operator's fingertips. The machine base is designed for easy leveling without needing to lift the machine off the floor, while an automatic oiler dispenses 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication every 30 minutes. For safety, a heavy-duty spindle brake halts the spindle and interrupts power to prevent accidental start-ups. The relocated electrical box at the rear of the mill includes two 115V outlets for powered accessories. Certified CSA/CUS, the machine incorporates class 7 spindle bearings to provide maximum rigidity during heavy cutting applications. The internally cooled spindle head extends the life of the bearings, belt, and motor. The precision-ground table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC for enhanced accuracy, while the X and Y axes are coated with Turcite-B, minimizing vibration and promoting smooth movement. Additional features include a swing-away safety shield, LED work lamp, chip pan, dual locks on all movable surfaces, way covers, a drawbar, and a toolbox stocked with tools. Specifications include a power feed on the X-axis, a pneumatic power drawbar, an R-8 spindle taper, and a table size of 9" x 49". The quill diameter measures 3-3/8", with variable spindle speeds ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM and quill down feed rates of .0015, .003, and .006 IPR. The spindle travel is 5", with head movement capabilities of 90° right and left, and 45° forward and backward. The maximum distance from spindle to table is 20-3/4", while the distance from spindle to column ranges from 4-3/4" to 18-1/8". The collet capacity accommodates sizes from 1/8" to 7/8", and the table longitudinal travel measures 36" (30-3/4" with power feed), with a cross travel of 12-5/8". The work table features three T-slots of 5/8" each, spaced 2-1/2" apart, and supports a weight capacity of 720 lbs., with a 15" travel of the knee.
