The Jet designed certified Meehanite® casting with enhanced ribbing ensures rigidity and tolerance retention, while the swing away control box houses an e-stop and puts all controls at the operator's fingertips. The innovative design of the machine base allows for easier leveling without raising the machine off the floor, and the automatic oiler releases 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication every 30 minutes. For added safety, the heavy-duty spindle brake stops the spindle and interrupts power to prevent accidental start-ups. The electrical box is relocated to the back of the mill and includes two 115V outlets for powered accessories. This machine is CSA/CUS certified, equipped with Class 7 spindle bearings for maximum rigidity in heavy cutting applications, and features an internally cooled spindle head to extend bearing, belt, and motor life. The table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC and precision ground for greater accuracy, while the X and Y-axis are coated with Turcite-B to reduce vibration and enable smooth movements. Additional features include a swing away safety shield, LED work lamp, chip pan, dual locks on all moveable surfaces, way covers, drawbar, and a toolbox with tools. Specifications include a spindle taper of R-8, table size of 9" x 49", quill diameter of 3-3/8", variable spindle speeds ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM, quill down feed rates of .0015, .003, and .006 IPR, spindle travel of 5", head movement of 90° right and left and 45° front and back, maximum distance from spindle to table of 20-3/4", and various other dimensions such as a collet capacity of 1/8 - 7/8, table longitudinal travel of 36", table cross travel of 12-5/8", and a work table weight capacity of 720 lbs. The travel of the knee is 15-3/4" and the travel of the ram is 15-1/4", with a saddle width of 11".
