The Jet vertical milling machine features a certified Meehanite® casting with enhanced ribbing for improved rigidity and tolerance retention. It includes a swing away control box that houses an emergency stop button, placing all controls conveniently at the operator's fingertips. The innovative machine base design allows for easier leveling without the need to lift it off the floor. An automatic oiler is integrated, dispensing 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication every 30 minutes, while a heavy-duty spindle brake enhances safety by stopping the spindle and interrupting power to prevent accidental start-ups. The electrical box, located at the rear of the mill, provides two 115V outlets for powered accessories. The machine is CSA/CUS certified and equipped with Class 7 spindle bearings for maximum rigidity during heavy cutting operations. The spindle head is internally cooled to extend the life of bearings, belts, and motors, and the table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC, precision ground for greater accuracy. The X and Y-axis are coated with Turcite-B, allowing for reduced vibration and smoother movements, and it features a swing away safety shield, LED work lamp, chip pan, dual locks on all moveable surfaces, way covers, drawbar, and a toolbox with tools.
