Product Details
The Jet designed certified Meehanite® casting features enhanced ribbing that ensures rigidity and tolerance retention, while the swing-away control box houses an E-stop and places all controls at the operator's fingertips. The machine base's innovative design allows for easier leveling without raising the machine off the floor. An automatic oiler releases 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication every 30 minutes, and for added safety, the heavy-duty spindle brake stops the spindle and interrupts power to prevent accidental start-ups. The electrical box is located at the back of the mill and includes two 115V outlets for powered accessories, while the machinery is CSA/CUS certified. Class 7 spindle bearings support the spindle for maximum rigidity during heavy cutting applications, and the spindle head is internally cooled to extend the life of bearings, belts, and motors. The table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC and precision ground for greater accuracy, with the X and Y-axis coated in Turcite-B to minimize vibration and allow for smooth movements. Additional features include a swing-away safety shield, an LED work lamp, a chip pan, dual locks on all movable surfaces, way covers, a drawbar, and a toolbox equipped with tools. Key specifications include a digital readout (Newall DP700), three axes of movement (Quill), power feed for X, Y, and Z axes, an R-8 spindle taper, a table size of 9" x 49", a quill diameter of 3-3/8", variable spindle speeds ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM, quill down feed rates of .0015, .003, and .006 inches per revolution, and a spindle travel of 5 inches. The head allows for 90° right and left movement and 45° forward and backward movement, with a maximum spindle-to-table distance of 20-3/4 inches and a minimum distance of 4-3/4 inches from spindle to column. The machine has a collet capacity ranging from 1/8 to 7/8 inches, with a table longitudinal travel of 36 inches (30-3/4 inches with power feed) and a table cross travel of 12-5/8 inches. It features three T-slots, each 5/8 inches in size, with T-slot centers spaced 2-1/2 inches apart. The work table weight is an important consideration for stability and performance.
