The Jet designed certified Meehanite® casting features enhanced ribbing that ensures rigidity and tolerance retention, while the swing away control box houses an emergency stop and puts all controls at the operator's fingertips. Designed for convenience, the machine base allows for easier leveling without needing to raise the machine off the floor. An automatic oiler delivers 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication every 30 minutes, and for added safety, a heavy-duty spindle brake stops the spindle and interrupts power to prevent accidental start-ups. The electrical box, relocated to the back of the mill, includes two 115V outlets for powered accessories and is CSA/CUS certified. It supports Class 7 spindle bearings for maximum rigidity during heavy cutting applications, and the spindle head is internally cooled to enhance the lifespan of bearings, belts, and motors. The table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC and precision ground for greater accuracy, with the X and Y-axis coated with Turcite-B to reduce vibration and ensure smooth movements. Additional features include a swing away safety shield, LED work lamp, chip pan, dual locks on all movable surfaces, way covers, drawbar, and a toolbox with tools. Specifications include a Newall DP700 digital readout, three axes (knee), X-axis powerfeed, R-8 spindle taper, table size of 9" x 49", quill diameter of 3-3/8", variable spindle speeds ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM, quill down feed rates of .0015, .003, and .006 IPR, spindle travel of 5", head movement of 90° right and left, 45° forward and backward, maximum distance from spindle to table of 20-3/4", and allowable distances from spindle to column of 18-1/8" (max) and 4-3/4" (min). The collet capacity ranges from 1/8" to 7/8", table longitudinal travel is 36" with powerfeed travel of 30-3/4", and table cross travel measures 12-5/8". The work table is equipped with three T-slots measuring 5/8", spaced 2-1/2" apart.
