The machine features a jet-designed certified Meehanite® casting with enhanced ribbing that ensures rigidity and tolerance retention, complemented by a swing away control box that houses an E-stop, placing all controls at the operator's fingertips. The innovative base design allows for easier leveling without needing to raise the machine off the floor. An automatic oiler releases 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication every 30 minutes, while a heavy-duty spindle brake enhances safety by stopping the spindle and interrupting power to prevent accidental start-ups. The electrical box is relocated to the back of the mill and includes two 115V outlets for powered accessories, and the unit is CSA/CUS certified. For heavy cutting applications, class 7 spindle bearings support the spindle for maximum rigidity, and the spindle head is internally cooled to extend the life of the bearing, belt, and motor. The table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC and precision ground for greater accuracy, with the X and Y-axis coated with Turcite-B to reduce vibration and facilitate smooth movements. The spindle taper measures R-8, with a table size of 9 x 49 inches, a quill diameter of 3-3/8 inches, and a variable number of spindle speeds ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM. The quill down feed rates are .0015, .003, and .006 inches per revolution, and spindle travel is 5 inches. The head can move 90° right and left and 45° forward and backward, with a maximum distance from the spindle to the table of 20-3/4 inches, and minimum and maximum distances from the spindle to the column of 4-3/4 inches and 18-1/8 inches, respectively. The collet capacity ranges from 1/8 to 7/8 inches, with a table longitudinal travel of 36 inches (30-3/4 inches with powerfeed) and a table cross travel of 12-5/8 inches.
