Constructed using the Meehanite® casting process, the JTM-1050EVS2/230, 10" x 50" electronic variable speed milling machine provides consistent and reliable operation. The newly designed column and base incorporates a rigid, robust design that is easily leveled without lifting the machine. This milling machine features a JET designed certified Meehanite® casting with enhanced ribbing for improved rigidity and tolerance retention. A swing away control box houses an E-stop and positions all controls for easy access by the operator. The machine base design allows for straightforward leveling without needing to lift the machine off the floor, while an automatic oiler delivers 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication at adjustable time intervals. A heavy-duty spindle brake enhances safety by stopping the spindle and interrupting power to prevent accidental start-ups. The relocated electrical box at the back of the mill includes two 115V outlets for powered accessories. The machine is CSA/CUS certified, equipped with Class 7 spindle bearings to support the spindle for maximum rigidity during heavy cutting applications, and has an internally cooled spindle head that extends the life of bearings, belts, and motors. The table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC and precision ground for greater accuracy, while the X and Y-axis are coated with Turcite-B for reduced vibration and smooth operations. Additional features include a swing away safety shield, LED work lamp, chip pan, dual locks on all movable surfaces, way covers, a drawbar, and a toolbox with tools. The specifications include a digital readout (Newall DP700), a 3-axis quill, powerfeed on the X-axis, pneumatic power drawbar, R-8 spindle taper, table size (L x W) of 10 x 50 inches, a quill diameter of 3-3/8 inches, variable spindle speeds with a range of 60 - 4,500 RPM, and a quill down feed.
