Constructed using the Meehanite® casting process, the JTM-1050EVS2/230, 10" x 50" electronic variable speed milling machine provides consistent and reliable operation. The newly designed column and base incorporates a rigid, robust design that is easily leveled without lifting the machine. This milling machine features a JET designed certified Meehanite® casting with enhanced ribbing to ensure rigidity and tolerance retention, a swing away control box housing an E-stop and all controls within easy reach of the operator, and an innovative machine base design that facilitates leveling without raising the machine. It includes an automatic oiler that releases 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication at adjustable intervals, a heavy-duty spindle brake for added safety, and a relocated electrical box with two 115V outlets for powered accessories. The machine is CSA/CUS certified and features Class 7 spindle bearings supporting maximum rigidity in heavy cutting applications. The spindle head is internally cooled to extend the life of the bearings, belt, and motor, while the table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC and precision ground for greater accuracy. The X and Y-axis are coated with Turcite-B to reduce vibration and ensure smooth movement. Other features include a swing away safety shield, LED work lamp, chip pan, dual locks on all movable surfaces, way covers, drawbar, and a toolbox with tools. The specifications include a digital readout (Newall DP700), powerfeed for both the X and Y-axis, a pneumatic power drawbar, an R-8 spindle taper, a table size of 10 x 50 inches, a quill diameter of 3-3/8 inches, variable spindle speeds ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM, and adjustable quill down feed rates.
