The JET JTM-1050 milling machine is engineered with certified Meehanite® castings and features a heavy-duty hardened and ground table measuring 10" x 50". It is equipped with high precision Class 7 spindle bearings that support the spindle and a precision bored and honed milling head which contributes to its quality cuts. The system includes chrome lead screws on the X and Y axes, a satin chrome finish on dials, and an adjustable gibs mechanism throughout. The machine supports a three-stage power downfeed with an automatic stop feature and includes a heavy-duty spindle brake, double locks on all movable surfaces, and hardened and ground square vertical knee ways and cross ways. An internal coolant tank is built into the base for use with a coolant system (coolant pump not included), and the system is also furnished with a tolerance test sheet. The digital readout is provided by an Acu-Rite VUE, and the machine offers power feed on the X, Y, and Z axes. Its spindle taper is R-8 with a range of spindle speeds from 70 to 3,800 RPM, a quill diameter of 3-3/8", and a spindle travel of 5". Movement capabilities include 90° right and left and 45° front and back, with a maximum distance from spindle to table of 19". The distance from spindle to column ranges from a minimum of 5-1/2" to a maximum of 26", and the collet capacity ranges from 1/8" up to 1/2". The overall construction includes a heavy-duty motor drive with a chrome-plated motor shaft supported by a bearing at the end, a one-shot lubrication system, way covers, a draw bar, and a toolbox containing tools.
