The Traffix Water-Cable Barrier measures 72'' (1.9 m) in length, 18" (0.46 m) in width, and 32" (0.8 m) in height, and is constructed from molded polyethylene plastic. It has been MASH tested and is eligible for TL-1 barrier applications at 31 mph (50 km/hr) and TL-2 applications at 43.5 mph (70 km/h). Each barrier wall weighs 100 lbs (45.4 kg) when empty and 1,070 lbs (485.3 kg) when filled. The design includes three (3)" diameter stranded steel cables molded into the wall to ensure vehicle containment during collisions. Standard colors for the barrier are orange/red and white, with options for different colors available. The modules connect using galvanized steel T-pins that pass through a double wall knuckle, minimizing breakage at hinge points, while allowing a pivot of up to 30° when connected. For convenient filling, the Water-Cable Barrier features one (1) 8" (20.3 cm) diameter fill hole closed by a twist lock cap. It is equipped with molded fork lift slots for easy handling and includes a drain plug centered on the module to prevent cracking, featuring coarse buttress threads for efficient removal and insertion. The barriers are also stackable for ease of movement and storage.
