The kit includes 50 lbs of 40 grit Coal Slag abrasive, with an approximate size of 0.025" and a hardness rating of 6.0-7.0 on the Mohs scale. This fast-cutting and economical abrasive is designed for removing heavy rust, scale, or paint from steel and other hard materials. It is typically utilized in a pressure blaster or siphon blaster where the abrasive is not recycled. Coal Slag is moisture resistant and does not pack, which minimizes clogging during use. The abrasive features sharp angular edges, providing a high degree of etch that enhances surface preparation and coating adhesion.
