The kit includes 50 lbs of medium 60 grit abrasive with a particle size of 0.016" and a hardness rating of 9.0 on the Mohs scale. This high-quality, fast-cutting abrasive is typically used in a blast cabinet or in applications where the abrasive is being recycled. It offers superior sharpness and has a longer life cycle compared to other abrasives, effectively penetrating deep into hard metal surfaces and providing an excellent semi-coarse finish. Additionally, it can be employed for glass etching. It is important to note that the size of the blaster nozzle should be three to four times larger than the grit size of the abrasive being used; a larger nozzle size requires more CFM of air for optimal performance.
