The kit includes 25 lbs of extra-fine, 40 grit abrasive material with a particle size of .025". With a hardness rating of 6.0 - 7.0 on the Mohs scale, this fast-cutting and economical abrasive is designed for the removal of heavy rust, scale, or paint from steel and other hard materials. It is typically utilized in a pressure blaster or siphon blaster where abrasive material is not recycled. The product is moisture-resistant and does not pack, which minimizes clogging issues. Featuring sharp angular edges, it provides a high degree of etch for effective surface preparation and coating adhesion. It is important to note that the size of the blaster nozzle should be three to four times larger than the grit size of the abrasive, as a larger nozzle size requires more CFM of air for optimal performance.
