The kit includes LEGO® compatible educational robots that are safe, reusable, expandable, and robust, allowing for diverse combinations and complex systems. Each Edison robot features LEGO-compatible plates, a range of sensors, and can be programmed using free software applications such as EdWare and EdPy. EdWare is a graphic programming software that utilizes drag and drop graphical icons compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Chrome, while EdPy introduces users to Python programming with a focus on readability and engagement. Edison's capabilities include interaction through infra-red (IR) transmitters and receivers, line tracking, barcode reading, sound playback, and sound detection, along with two variable speed motors, left and right red LED lights, and three control buttons. The robots can communicate with each other via IR and can be controlled using TV and DVD remotes. Each unit operates on AAA batteries, making it a versatile and engaging learning tool.
