The kit includes rubber voltage gloves that are made in the USA, which have been electrically tested and are stamped with the initial test date. Each pair is newly tested before shipment and must be put into use within 12 months of the test date. Once issued for use, the gloves must be tested again within 6 months from the distribution date to employees. To enhance the lifespan of the rubber voltage gloves, it is recommended that they be worn with 10" leather glove protectors; however, these protectors are not required to be marked with a date. The gloves are classified as Class 0, with a maximum use voltage of 1,000V AC and 1,500V DC. The gloves comply with several standards, including NFPA 70E, CSA Z462, and ANSI/ASTM D120, Class 0, Type 1.
