The pleated design allows for the accumulation of heavier particles at the bottom of the pleats, maintaining open sides for enhanced filtration efficiency. With low resistance, the filter improves airflow and can significantly reduce energy costs. It also supports efforts towards USGBC-LEED certification projects due to its low initial pressure drop and initial efficiency surpassing that of traditional cotton poly filters, with an efficiency greater than 74% for 1-3 micron particles.
