The slings are single-part body mechanically spliced, utilizing swaging to ensure a positive grip. In the standard Flemish eye mechanical splice, the rope is divided into two sections comprising three adjacent strands each, along with the core, which are then re-laid back in opposite directions to create the eye. The ends are reinforced and secured using a swaged metal sleeve.
