The Ergodyne Squids® 3011 retractable lanyard with carabiner mount is a lightweight and durable tethering solution, designed to mount to a D-ring on the user's belt or a separate anchor point, effectively limiting potential snag hazards associated with standard lanyards. This lanyard can tether hand tools weighing up to 8 lbs / 3.6 kg, preventing falling objects when working at heights. The retractable tethering cord is crafted from high-strength, cut-resistant Dyneema® and features a protective sleeve to reduce wear and tear, ensuring a longer life. The durable ABS plastic housing is textured for better grip and protects the internal workings of the retractable mechanism. It includes a tapered cord exit to limit debris from being retracted into the housing. Weighing less than 0.5 lb / 0.22 kg and measuring 48 in / 122 cm when fully extended, the anchoring end features a swiveling carabiner connection for anchoring, while the connecting end of the cord boasts a patented Squids® double-action carabiner. A trigger switch allows for setting the working length and locking the lanyard at a desired length, enabling users to release the lock and retract the cord easily. Additionally, tested and qualified to the ANSI/ISEA 121 standard, the lanyard's tethering cord includes a red impact indicator that activates if exposed to a force of 110 lbs / 50 kg or greater, signaling if a drop has occurred.
