This AC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/6HP and operates at 90 RPM, delivering a gear ratio of 19 to 1. It is capable of supporting an overhung load of 237 pounds and provides a full load torque of 103 lb. in. The motor is totally enclosed and fan-cooled (TEFC), housed in a 38 frame, and can operate on either 115V or 230V, designed for single-phase applications with a nameplate amperage of 2.1. The gearmotor is built for continuous duty and general-purpose use, utilizing a permanent split capacitor design rated for 115/230VAC at 60/50 hertz. The in-line gearing incorporates precision machined steel with a first stage steel helical gear and spur type gears thereafter. It is lubricated with semi-fluid grease, minimizing leakage and ensuring permanent lubrication, while its output shafts are supported by needle bearings for enhanced load capacity and are constructed from hardened steel. These gearmotors can be mounted at any angle, although mounting with the shaft up and the motor below is advised against. Stalling the gearmotor may lead to gearhead damage, particularly in ratios of 60:1 or higher, so torque limiting provisions are suggested. The specified torque values reflect the recommended full load torque for optimal gear life, and overhung load capacities are measured at the output shaft's center. All PZ series gearmotors come equipped with a continuous duty "run" capacitor, though a conduit box is not included. Notably, these model PZ gearmotors share mounting dimensions with Bodine model D and Z gearmotors, Bison 100 gearmotors, Baldor/Boehm PSS, and several Dayton gearmotors.
