Product Details
The AC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power of 1/15 HP and operates at 97 RPM, offering a gear ratio of 16.5 to 1. It is capable of handling an overhung load of 232 pounds and provides a full load torque of 43 lb. in. This gearmotor is housed in a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure with a 38 frame and is suitable for 115/230V, single-phase (1PH) power, with nameplate amps of 1. Designed for continuous duty and general purpose applications, the permanent split capacitor design allows for operation at 115/230VAC and 60/50 hertz input, ensuring starting torques equal to running torques. The in-line gearing consists of precision machined steel with a first stage steel helical gear followed by spur type gears, and lubrication is achieved through semi-fluid grease, which minimizes leakage and provides permanent lubrication. Output shafts are equipped with needle bearings for enhanced load capacities and are made of hardened steel. The gearmotor can be mounted at any angle, though it is advised to avoid a shaft-up configuration with the motor below to prevent lubricant leakage should the shaft seal fail. It is important to note that stalling these gearmotors may cause gearhead damage, particularly in ratios of 60:1 and higher, which necessitates torque limitation provisions. Recommended torque values listed are for optimal gear life, and overhung load capacities are measured at the center of the output shaft. All PZ series gearmotors come with a continuous duty "run" capacitor, while a conduit box is not included with the motor. These model PZ gearmotors share mounting dimensions with Bodine model D and Z gearmotors, Bison 100 gearmotors, Baldor/Boehm PSS, and various Dayton gearmotors.
