The AC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/15HP and operates at 8 RPM, boasting a gear ratio of 216 to 1. It supports an overhung load of 491 pounds and delivers a full load torque of 345 lb. in. This gearmotor is housed in a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure with a 38 frame size and operates on a 115/230V, 1PH electrical input, drawing 1 nameplate amps. It is designed for continuous duty in general purpose applications, utilizing a permanent split capacitor which allows for equal starting and running torques. The precision machined steel in-line gearing consists of a first stage steel helical gear followed by spur type gears, all lubricated with semi-fluid grease to minimize leakage and ensure permanent lubrication. The output shafts, which are made of hardened steel, feature needle bearings for enhanced load capacity. These gearmotors can be mounted at any angle, though it is advised to avoid shaft up with the motor below to prevent lubricant leakage into the motor if the shaft seal fails. The gearmotors are susceptible to gearhead damage if stalled, particularly in gear ratios of 60:1 and higher, thus torque limiting provisions are recommended. The torque values provided are for optimal gear life under full load conditions, and the listed overhung load capacities correspond to the center of the output shaft. Furthermore, all PZ series gearmotors are equipped with a continuous duty "run" capacitor, and please note that the conduit box is not included with the motor. These model PZ gearmotors share the same mounting dimensions as Bodine model D and Z gearmotors, Bison 100 gearmotors, and Baldor/Boehm PSS, as well as many Dayton gearmotors.
