The Makita® 18V LXT® lithium-ion battery, model BL1860B, provides exceptional performance with a 6.0Ah capacity, delivering two times more run time per charge compared to the Makita® 3.0Ah battery, along with a rapid charge time of only 55 minutes. This battery features an on-board L.E.D. charge level indicator for monitoring charge status and is compatible exclusively with Star Protection tools, indicated by the Star Symbol™ and/or a yellow battery receiver under the tool. Designed to resist self-discharge, the Makita® 18V lithium-ion batteries remain ready for use even after prolonged storage. The Makita® Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately) employs advanced smart-charging technology, communicating with the battery to optimize charging by monitoring current, voltage, and temperature, and includes a built-in fan for effective cooling during charging, even in high temperatures. For enhanced tool performance and battery longevity, Makita® incorporates Star Protection Computer Controls™, a technology that enables real-time data exchange between the tool and battery to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.
