Southwire's 18/5 thermostat wire is designed for Class 2 power-limited circuit applications, particularly in thermostat control, bell, and alarm systems. It meets specifications including CL2 per NEC Article 725, MP for multi-purpose applications per Articles 725, 760, and 800, and CM as communication cable per Article 800. The wire features sunlight-resistant PVC insulation, solid bare copper conductors according to UL standard 13, is RoHS compliant, and OSHA acceptable. The construction consists of solid copper conductors insulated with 6 mils of polypropylene and paralleled before being encased in a brown PVC jacket.
